If you're looking for a new hobby, or just want to teach your children to swim, the City of Arlington is ready to help.

We've compiled a list of beginner courses offered through Arlington Parks and Recreation. So grab a club, throw on a swimsuit and get a hobby.

Sailing Season on Lake Viridian

Learn how to sail like a pro this summer. Viridian will be hosting a sailing camp for beginners and advanced sailors of all ages. For more information, contact Kelly Gough at 972-841-6393 or email [email protected].

Swimming Lessons

Learn the basics of swimming and water safety. Beginner classes will be held for children ages 6 months and up. Swim classes are scheduled at Allen Bolden Pool, Woodland West Pool, Bad Königshofen Family Aquatic Center, and Hugh Smith Indoor Pool.

Aqua Stand Up

Aqua Stand Up is safe, fun and accessible to everyone regardless of age. The 45-minute training program is inspired by stand-up paddle boarding mixed with different fitness techniques including HIIT, Pilates and Yoga. You'll experience muscular conditioning due to the instability of the board placed on the water. Summer classes for ages 14 and up will meet Wednesdays at Hugh Smith Indoor Pool and/or Saturdays at Bad Königshofen Family Aquatic Center. Children's classes begin in late summer. Tennis Camps

Want to become a better tennis player this summer? The Arlington Tennis Center will be hosting a beginner camp for students ages 3 to 18 years old. Players will be split into groups by age and/or skill. No tennis experience is needed to participate. Multiple camp dates are available throughout the summer.
