The City of Arlington’s efforts to spread the word about its new Know Your H2O website were recently recognized for communication excellence by the Texas Section of the American Water Works Association and the Water Environment Association of Texas.

The two statewide organizations choose water providers from across the state each year to be awarded the Watermark Award for Communications Excellence. Arlington Water Utilities won a 2019 Watermark Award in the Large Utility Category. The communications campaign surrounding the launch of the Know Your H2O website in November 2018 was a collaboration between Arlington Water Utilities and the City of Arlington’s Office of Communications. It included a video available on YouTube, postcards mailed to residents with remotely read meters, social media posts and other advertising. The Watermark Awards were presented April 4 at the Texas Water 2019 convention in Houston.

The Know Your H2O website allows residents with remotely read water meters, which includes more than half of Arlington, to see their daily water meter readings online. It also contains other account information, including up to two years of past bills for accounts with any style of water meter. To find out more, visit www.arlingtontx.gov/water.
