Arlington Resident, Public Health Advocate Amanda Arizola Helping Others Pursue Their American Dream
Arlington resident Amanda Arizola is living her dream by helping others pursue their best life in The American Dream City. A public health advocate for those in need and the Latino and Hispanic community, she continues to help underserved residents receive financial assistance and public health resources. She’s doing this by building bridges of trust between frontline first responders and community stakeholders.
Amanda serves at the Director of Strategy and Corporate Administration for One CommunityUSA, a nonprofit organization with the mission of supporting safe, secure, and economically thriving neighborhoods. Amanda also serves as the Co-Founder and Chief Analyst for CoACT North Texas, a social innovation nonprofit in Fort Worth, Texas utilizing human centered design to solve complex social problems. She additionally enjoys a Financial Coaching practice where she helps high school and college students understand their relationship with finances.
A graduate of University of Texas at Austin, Amanda earned a double B.A. in Government and Mexican American Studies. While at UT-Austin, she served as a Legislative Aide to Senator Rodney Ellis, D-Houston, and was an active member of Kappa Delta Chi Sorority Incorporated, a Latina Service Sorority. In addition, she earned a double Masters in Business Administration and Health Systems Management from Texas Woman’s University in 2010.
Amanda is actively involved in her community as the first Latina appointed board member to the Tarrant County Hospital District Board of Managers, JPS Health Network. She serves as the Chair of KERA/KXT, a PBS affiliate, Community Advisory Board; Hispanic Scholarship Fund-Dallas Chapter Advisory Board Member; and the ReflectUS Dallas Leadership Council supporting women candidates to run for elected and appointed office.
She is also a 20+ year member of Hispanic Women’s Network of Texas and has previously served as the Vice Chair of Development, Vice Chair of Marketing for the state board and served locally as the Fabulous Fort Worth Chapter State Representative and Parliamentarian. Amanda has previously served as the Development Chair for the Mayor’s Star Council, a Leadership Women – Texas cohort member and The Op-Ed Project, Public Voices Fellow.
