National Night Out is a time-honored tradition in Arlington that gives citizens the opportunity to meet, talk, and have fun with their neighbors, city leaders, and first responders.

It's in that spirit that the Arlington Police Department is pressing forward with plans to host multiple community events for National Night Out 2020.

Out of respect for public safety, and in accordance with all city, county, and state health guidelines, this year's NNO events will look different than they have in years past.

On Tuesday, October 6, from 6:00 p.m - 8:00 p.m., members of the public are invited to stop by any of APD's four drive-thru parties, where they'll have the chance to say hi to officers from the safety of their vehicles -- and take home free 7-Eleven Slurpee coupons, as well as other National Night Out swag.

Each site will also have collection boxes where citizens can drop off canned goods or other non-perishable food items that will be donated to Mission Arlington.

Participating officers will be wearing face masks.

The drive-thru party locations are:

Off AT&T Way near Randol Mill Rd

AISD Dan Dipert Career & Technical Center
2101 Oleander St

South District
