Arlington Gives 2021 Concert

As part of the upcoming North Texas Giving Day on Sept. 23, the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation will award $60,000 in grants to local nonprofit organizations and host a free community concert at the Levitt Pavilion in Downtown.

North Texas Giving Day is an annual 18-hour online giving event, coordinated by the Communities Foundation of Texas, that encourages residents to contribute to the nonprofit organization of their choice. All contributions made between 6 a.m. and midnight on this day are matched in part by the Communities Foundation.

Since 2014, the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation has sponsored free community concerts and awarded grants to recognize and highlight Arlington-based nonprofit organizations and to help North Texas Giving Day contributors' dollars go even further.

“Nonprofits serve a vital role in ensuring the health and vibrancy of our community —it’s critical we help them thrive,” said Carolyn Mentesana, Arlington Tomorrow Foundation executive director.

Throughout the day on Sept. 23, the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation will award $5,000 bonus grants to three Arlington nonprofits and one school that raise the most money during select time blocks between 6 a.m. and midnight. Schools have their own fundraising block from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to compete for a bonus grant.

Concurrently, three grants of $5,000 will be awarded to Arlington groups with an annual operating budget of less than $250,000 who receive the largest number of donations during 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. and 7 p.m. to midnight.

This year, the $10,000 People’s Choice Award grant will be awarded to the organization receiving the most votes through a special QR code that will be posted on the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation’s social media accounts and shared with participating Arlington-based charities on Sept. 23. Show your love by making a donation and by voting for your favorite Arlington charity using the QR code between 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. One vote per cell phone or computer.

Three random drawings of $5,000 each will be announced before this year’s Arlington Gives! free community concert, which will feature opening act Ariel Hutchins at 6:30 p.m. and Grammy winning vocal group Take 6 at 8 p.m. The concert, held at Levitt Pavilion across from City Hall, will also be live-streamed for those who cannot attend. Arlington Gives! attendees are invited to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and their own food and drinks (as long as they are not in glass containers). Food trucks will also be available.
