The annual Water Quality Report from Arlington Water Utilities is now online. The document, also known as the Consumer Confidence Report, contains details about water quality testing during the period from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2021. The yearly report also features descriptions of the water treatment processes and Arlington’s water sources.

Residents can check out the full PDF report here. Paper copies are available by calling 817-575-8984.

Publication of the report is required each year by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. Its publication also coincides with the national observance of Drinking Water Week from May 1-7. The American Water Works Association started the event more than 40 years ago to recognize water’s vital role and those who provide it play in their communities.

The city’s two Water Treatment Plants produced more than 18 billion gallons of water in 2021. During that time, Arlington Water Utilities laboratory employees also collected and tested 6,131 samples for 372 different substances during the year.

Facts contained in the report include:

  • Arlington Water Utilities meets all safety guidelines set by state and federal regulations.
  • The Arlington Water Utilities Laboratory is accredited by the State of Texas, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, under the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (NELAP). NELAP accreditation standards represent the best professional practices in the laboratory industry.
  • Arlington Water Utilities was once again named Best Tasting Surface Water in Texas by the Texas Water Utilities Association in 2021. It’s the third time Arlington has won the award.
  • Arlington Water Utilities’ 13 lab staff members have a combined 160  years of experience and a variety of degrees and TCEQ-issued licenses.
