Celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month with the Arlington Public Library
It’s time to celebrate the culture, traditions, and history of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the United States. May is designated Asian Pacific American Heritage Month and originated in the late 1970s. During this month we celebrate the history and contributions of Asian and Pacific Americans. Asian and Pacific Americans have been a part of the history of the United States since the early 1700s. This group encompasses East Asia, Southeast Asia, the Pacific Islands, and parts of the Middle East. They are the fastest-growing racial group in the U.S. and have played a major role in shaping our culture.
