Arlington Animal Services Begins Next Phase of Reopening Process Monday, June 1

Bird adopted at Arlington Animal Services

Dogs, cats, a lop-eared rabbit, a chicken and even the beautiful talking (bilingual!) Conure bird pictured above found new homes through adoption at Animal Services during this novel coronavirus.

The first phases of shelter operations during the pandemic have been limited to pet adoptions by appointment only, but beginning Monday, June 1, 2020, the shelter’s adoption mall will begin receiving guests, no more than 10 at a time, to view and meet with adoptable pets.

Animal Admission – Owner Surrender

Owner surrender pets will be accepted on Wednesday and Saturday's by appointment only. To discuss surrendering your pet and to schedule an appointment, please call 817-459-6156. Learn more, including options available.

Field Operations

  • Animal Services Staff will respond to calls based on priority.
  • To report a call for an animal control officer, please call 817-459-5898.
  • Trapping services are suspended until further notice.

Animal Admission – Stray Animals

Stray animals found in the city limits may be taken at the receiving doors Monday-Friday 10 a.m. - 5:45 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. - 3:45 p.m.

Volunteer Program

  • Current and approved volunteers may start volunteering at the shelter in a limited capacity.
  • All volunteers must sign up prior to coming to the shelter.
