Active Adult Center Networking Event

On Monday, September 19th, the City of Arlington's Office of Business Diversity collaborated with Parkhill, Manhattan Construction, Acari Management Group, and Butler & Butler Construction to host a strategic trade partners networking event for the Arlington Active Adult Center project.

The event drew more than sixty certified MWBE vendors from various trade industries. Primary stakeholders on the project presented a high-level overview of the project. The outline included the project timeline, design, request for information cutoff date, information regarding 1st and 2nd tier subcontracting bid requirements, and the bid submission due date for the project.

Manhattan Construction scheduled numerous 1:1 interviews with local MWBE vendors to discuss contracting partnerships for this project. Dallas Fort Minority Supplier Development Council (DFW MSDC) and North Central Texas Regional Certification Agency (NCTCRA) connected with small business owners who were interested in learning more about the certification process.

The Arlington Active Adult Center has a 30% contract specific MWBE participation goal. Construction is anticipated to begin in late 2022, with project completion Winter 2024.
