SH 360 Widening Project

Drivers should be aware that both directions of Abram Street beneath State Highway 360 will be closed nightly for the next 10 days as part of the Texas Department of Transportation’s SH 360 Widening Project.

Because of necessary work on the SH 360 bridge in that section, the east and west lanes of Abram Street will be closed night between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. from Thursday, Oct. 31 to Sunday, Nov. 10, 2019. Eastbound traffic will be detoured to Mitchell Street. Westbound traffic will be detoured to Division Street.

TxDOT began widening SH 360 between Abram Street and Interstate 20 through Arlington in June 2018 in response to growing transportation needs of the Metroplex.

The project will widen the 5.4-mile section of SH 360 from three lanes to four lanes by adding an additional northbound and southbound main lane. Additionally, crews will widen the SH 360 bridges at Park Row Drive and Mayfield Road, fully rebuild the SH 360 bridge over Abram Street, and rebuild the exit and entrance ramps at Abram Street.

The purpose of the $53 million project, which is set to be substantially complete next year, is to improve mobility and reduce congestion. Significant changes in mobility through the SH 360 corridor will improve mobility and safety by providing additional traffic capacity, and construct noise walls to mitigate impacts from highway sounds.
