It’s that time of year when folks are frantically searching for their luckiest shade of green to protect themselves being pinched on St. Patrick’s Day. Here are just a few local events taking place this St. Patrick’s Day holiday weekend across The American Dream City.

Hooligan’s Pub St. Paddy’s Party

Hooligan’s Pub in Downtown Arlington is hosting a huge St. Patrick’s Day Party full of special deals including green beer, Irish mules and more. The pub at 310 E. Abram St., Ste. 150, will also feature live music, a raffle and food from Streakin Ricans. This event is scheduled from noon, Saturday, March 16 to 2:30 a.m. Sunday, March 17.

Texas Live! St. Patrick’s Day Bash

Texas Live! announced its holding a free St. Patrick’s Day Bash with activities for the whole family, including live music, drinks and more. Attendees will have the chance to win a pot of gold. Specials include Irish Whiskey, green beer and Guinness. St. Patrick’s Day Live begins at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 16.

Gilligan’s 40th St. Patrick’s Day Block Party

J. Gilligan's Bar and Grill in Downtown Arlington is holding its 40th annual St. Patrick’s Day Block Party Celebration from 11 a.m. to close on Sunday, March 17. Kids activities will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Live music, including bag pipes, will be located in the draft house, restaurant and outside. Cover charge is $4 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and $6 after 6p.m.

Miller Tavern and Beer Garden St. Paddy’s Day Breakfast Buffet

Miller Tavern and Beer Garden is offering a breakfast buffet event, called Kegs & Eggs, to kick off its St. Patrick’s celebration. The breakfast is open to all ages and everyone is encouraged to stay for the activities afterwards. The event after the breakfast will feature live music throughout the day and beverage specials such as color-changing souvenir cups, Irish Whiskey, and Guinness. The breakfast will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 16 with the other activities to follow.

Shamrocks & Shenanigans Virtual 4 Mile Run/Walk

The Shamrock and Shenanigans Virtual four-mile run/walk is an activity that anyone can join, at any time during March 1 to March 31. The goal of event is to complete all four miles by March 31 at your own pace. You can do one mile at a time or all four at once. Participants are able to compete with others from all 50 states and are encouraged to wear their luckiest St. Patrick’s Day attire while doing it. Registration is $29 to $50 per participant. Directions on how to complete the challenge and how to register can be found on the event website.
