Quarterly Growth Profile

The City of Arlington issued permits for more than $39 million in new residential housing construction and permits for more than $128 million in non-residential new construction during the last three months of 2018, according to the latest Quarterly Growth Profile.

The Quarterly Growth Profile provides basic growth statistics and is produced by the City of Arlington’s Office of Strategic Initiatives. The publication includes population growth, new construction and housing changes within The American Dream City.

In all, 1,885 permits for projects totaling nearly $300 million were issued by the City between Oct. 1, 2018, and Dec. 31, 2018. These permits ranged from new homes being built in the Viridian master planned community in north Arlington to a new frozen custard stop in South Arlington, as well as new multifamily housing units, commercial and residential remodeling projects, swimming pools, fences, signs and accessory buildings across the city.

While the total volume of issued permits fell by 24.6 percent from the previous quarter, the overall value of the permits increased by 84.2 percent when compared to the same time period.
