The City of Arlington’s newest gateway monument, which will welcome people as they enter The American Dream City on U.S. Highway 287, is expected to be complete later this month.

This 20-foot tall monument, located along northbound U.S. Highway 287 at Russell Curry Road in southwest Arlington, was designed and engineered by Schrickel, Rollins and Associates of Arlington and is being installed by general contractor C. Green Scaping, LP of Fort Worth.

The new monument, one of seven gateway monuments that are planned, matches the Interstate 30 gateway monument installed in 2017 at Randol Mill Park near Fielder Road in north Arlington. The City and the Texas Department of Transportation are currently reviewing possible locations along Interstate 20 for a third gateway monument.

The standard color for these illuminated signs is white but the LED lights can be programmed to change colors for holidays and special events.
