Register Now for Annual Chalk the Walk Sidewalk Art Contest at Arlington's O.S. Gray Natural Area

The Friends of O. S. Gray Natural Area’s annual sidewalk chalk art contest is set from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 19 at the natural area, located at 2021 W. Abram St. 

Express your love of nature through colorful sidewalk chalk art and learn more about Arlington’s O.S. Gray Natural Area during Saturday’s Chalk the Walk and Talk event.

The Friends of O. S. Gray Natural Area’s annual sidewalk chalk art contest is set from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 19 at the natural area, located at 2021 W. Abram St. This family friendly competition is open to artists of all ages and skill levels. Registered participants will receive one box of chalk and a sidewalk square to create a beautiful piece of artwork for the chance to win a cash prize. This family friendly competition is open to artists of all ages and skill levels.

The registration deadline for participants is 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17. Registration fees range from $5 to $15, depending on the chalk artist’s age or the number of people in a team. For more information on registration, please visit the event Facebook page.

Not an artist? You are invited to help judge the People's Choice Award category beginning from noon to 1 p.m. The Friends of O. S. Gray Natural Area has other activities to enjoy, including park tours, recycled crafts, and a visit with Arlington City Council member Dr. Victoria Farrar-Myers.

The event will also have food for sale from Danielita's Restaurant.
