Weekend Buzz: 10 Events in The American Dream City for Sept. 14-16, 2018

1. Downtown Arlington Brewing Arts Festival

The Downtown Arlington Brewing Arts Festival, hosted by the Downtown Arlington Management Corporation and Downtown businesses, will take place from 5 p.m. to midnight Friday, September 14 and from noon to midnight Saturday, September 15 in the bustling Urban Union district. The Brewing Arts Festival kicks off with the Downtown Arlington Mural Project VIP Dedication at 7 p.m. Thursday, September 13. This inaugural festival, designed to celebrate the city's thriving arts community, will feature dozens of artists, vendors, food trucks, craft beer and live music. Admission and parking will be free. 2. Levitt Pavilion Arlington's Free Fall Concert Season

Happy 10th birthday, Levitt Pavilion Arlington! In a decade-long tradition that has yet to be broken, Levitt Pavilion Arlington continues its fall season of free concerts this Friday night at 8 p.m. with The Nightowls. The weekend continues at 8 p.m. with Dale Watson on Saturday, September 15. Ram Herrera & the Outlaw Band comes to town on Sunday at 8 p.m. Herrera is a smooth-voiced, award-winning Tejano singer and songwriter, who is not only a staple on the Texas music scene, but is considered one of its legends. All concerts are free and family friendly this season except for Barenaked Ladies, which requires a ticket purchase. 3. New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium

The Cowboys celebrate the team's home opener this Sunday, September 16, 2018 with an NFC East showdown as they welcome the New York Giants to AT&T Stadium in Arlington. The Cowboys, led by quarterback Dak Prescott and running back Ezekiel Elliott, look to bounce back from a Week 1 road loss to the Carolina Panthers. Kickoff for Sunday Night Football is at 7:20 p.m. CT and the game will be nationally televised on NBC. For more information on AT&T Stadium and its upcoming events, visit ATTStadium.com.

4. AdvoCare Showdown: TCU vs. Ohio State at AT&T Stadium

#4 Ohio State and #15 TCU have replaced a home-and-home series previously scheduled for 2018-19 with one game at AT&T Stadium this Saturday, September 15, 2018. The Buckeyes last played at AT&T Stadium in 2017, when they defeated the USC Trojans to win the Cotton Bowl Classic. TCU has played at AT&T Stadium four times, most recently in the 2017 Big 12 Championship game. Tickets are on sale now at SeatGeek.com, the Official Ticketing Provider of the AdvoCare Showdown. Kickoff for the game is at 7 p.m. and it will be nationally televised on ABC.

5. Live Music at Texas Live!

Check out live music this weekend at Texas Live!, the new $250 million world-class dining, entertainment and hospitality district located near the Rangers' Globe Life Park and Cowboys' AT&T Stadium in The American Dream City. Arlington Backyard, a 5,000-capacity outdoor event pavilion, is expected to host more than 250 events annually. Petty Theft, playing the music of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, performs at 9 p.m. at the Live! Arena on Friday, September 14. The College Game Day Watch Party kicks off on Saturday at 11 a.m. in front of a Texas-Sized Television. Poo Live Crew will perform at 3 p.m. on Saturday at the Arlington Backyard. The Cowboys Game Watch Party starts at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday and the Time Machine gets underway at 5:30 p.m. at the Arlington Backyard. Click here for information about Texas Live! parking.

6. Hurricane Harbor

It's time to break out the swimwear, slather on the sunscreen, and dust off your sunglasses for a fun-filled season at Hurricane Harbor! This summer season is sure to rock with plenty of activities for the entire family. Cool off with the kiddos at Hook's Lagoon with four mini slides, water sprayers and shallow water to splash around in. For the thrills seekers in the family, hop onto Tornado and travel down the 132 foot slide in the mouth of a gigantic funnel. Hurricane Harbor will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

7. Six Flags Over Texas

Six Flags Over Texas, the Thrill Capital of Texas, continues its 57th season in The American Dream City. The park will open this weekend for guests to enjoy their favorite coasters and attractions, including the ultimate Super-Villain thrill ride-HARLEY QUINN Spinsanity. The park's operating hours are from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday. 8. Splash Into September at Hugh Smith Indoor Pool

As summer comes to an end, the pools will be closing for the season. However, if you purchased an outdoor season pass for City pools, then you can still use it through September at Hugh Smith Indoor Pool. Keep summer going after school starts with open swim hours every day of the week. Features include a perfect 86 degree water temperature year round, handicap access, and changing room and restroom facilities. 9. Live Music at Grease Monkey Burger Shop & Social Club

Head over to Grease Monkey Burger Shop & Social Club in Downtown Arlington for live music this weekend. On Friday, September 14, Michael Padgett and Derek Larson will perform at 9 p.m. The Josh Lee Band, based out of Arlington, takes the stage at 9 p.m. on Saturday, September 15. The Josh Lee Band has been rocking out since 2007, providing entertainment to a variety of venues from Classic Rock to 90s Rock, Country, the Oldies and today's hits. 10. Live Music at J.R. Bentley's

Check out live music with TBone & Jughead this Friday, September 14, 2018 at J.R. Bentley's in Downtown Arlington. The show starts at 8 p.m. On Saturday, Neil Schnell will perform at 8 p.m. Situated in a historic home, J.R. Bentley's has the feel of an authentic English pub and features several local and area bands throughout the year. The venue is located at 406 W Abram St, Arlington, TX 76010.
