With booming economic growth and a rapidly expanding Entertainment District, there has never been a better time to live and work in The American Dream City.

That is what local employers such as Six Flags Over Texas and the Arlington Independent School District hoped to relay to students and alumni of the University of Texas at Arlington at the UTA All Majors Career Fair on Wednesday, Sept. 26.

The job fair provided students and alumni the opportunity to mingle with several Arlington-based companies, benefitting a large group of students who are hoping to remain local after graduation.

One of these students is Delilah Ochoa, a junior pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and Marketing. Ochoa said she is interested in starting her career in Arlington.

"Arlington has a great job market," Ochoa said. "UTA has educated and prepared me well, and I would love to be able to stay local and use my skills to benefit Arlington."

Melanie McGee, corporate relations director for the College of Business, encouraged students to attend the job fair and connect with the many companies located near the university.

"The more our students are made aware of and are exposed to career opportunities in the greater Arlington area, the greater the likelihood of keeping that outstanding student talent local," McGee said.
