Thanksgiving Weekend Buzz: 10 Events in Arlington

1. Redskins vs. Cowboys at AT&T Stadium

The Dallas Cowboys (5-5) host the Washington Redskins (6-4), their bitter division rival on Thanksgiving Day at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. NFL football on Thanksgiving has been a regular occurrence since the league's inception in 1920. Quarterback Dak Prescott, running back Ezekiel Elliott and the Cowboys are coming off a win over the Atlanta Falcons. Kickoff for the game starts at 3:30 p.m. CT. on Thursday, November 22, 2018. If you can't make it to the game, it will be nationally televised on FOX.

2. Texas Christkindl Market at The Plaza

Arlington's beloved Texas Christkindl Market returns for its eighth season this weekend! From Nov. 23 to Dec. 23, The Plaza at Texas Live! will transform into a unique holiday shopping experience. Modeled after Arlington's sister Christmas city, Rothenberg ob der Tauber, this cozy version of an Arlington favorite will offer beautiful holiday decorations and handmade gifts for everyone on your Christmas list. Open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, admission is free, with holiday treats and gift items available for purchase. 3. Enchant Christmas at Globe Life Park

Back by popular demand, Enchant Christmas will once again illuminate North Texas skies with its World's Largest Christmas Light Maze & Market. Last year, more than 250,000 people unwrapped a new holiday tradition at the most scenic wonderland in Texas. This year, the family tradition will move inside Globe Life Park in The American Dream City, with a new heart-warming theme, an updated adventure in the light maze, and a larger, dazzling Artisans' Market. 4. Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Over Texas

Six Flags Over Texas' brightest holiday celebration is now under way in The American Dream City! At this exclusive seasonal event, you'll find everything you need to celebrate the most wonderful time of year. Holiday in the Park is available on select dates now through Dec. 31. Here are seven incredible features at this year's event. The park will be open from 2-10 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 23, noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24, and 4-9 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 25.

5. Santa's Toy Factory at The Parks at Arlington Mall

This $750,000 prize pool tournament, scheduled for Nov. 24-25, 2018, offers esports enthusiasts a new fan experience to complement the iconic football festivities of the season. 7. 9th Annual Turkey Trot

Kick off your Thanksgiving Day in The American Dream City by participating in the 9th annual Arlington Turkey Trot. This event, which benefits the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County, includes a 1-mile “Puffin' for Stuffin'" fun run and a USATF-certified 5k. Registration is open now for the Arlington Turkey Trot, which has been named by Daily Burn magazine as a Top 20 Turkey Trot in the nation. Click here to register for this year's event. The 1-mile fun run will begin at 8 a.m. and will be followed by the 5k run beginning at 8:30 a.m. Packet pick-up will be available on race day between 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.

8. Live Music at Texas Live!

Check out live music this weekend at Texas Live!, the new $250 million world-class dining, entertainment and hospitality district located near the Rangers' Globe Life Park and Cowboys' AT&T Stadium in The American Dream City. Arlington Backyard, a 5,000-capacity outdoor event pavilion, is expected to host more than 250 events annually. The Cowboys Game Day Watch Party starts at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 22. Several bands will perform throughout the weekend at the Live! Arena, Lockhart Smokehouse and Troy's. 9. Live Music at Grease Monkey Burger Shop & Social Club

Head over to Grease Monkey Burger Shop & Social Club in Downtown Arlington for live music this weekend. On Friday, November 23, enjoy Clayton Gardner, a singer/songwriter currently out of College Station, TX, at 9 p.m. The Josh Lee Band will perform on Saturday, November 24 at 9 p.m. The group has been rocking out since 2007, providing entertainment to a variety of venues performing Classic Rock, 90s Rock and Country. 10. Shows at UTA Planetarium

UTA Planetarium continues to offer shows to residents and visitors.
