The Arlington Police Department's Unidos Summer Party, or Fiesta de Verano, is set from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, June 1 at Bob Cooke Park, 2025 Craig Hanking Dr.

Besides valuable information about City services, this free family-friendly community event will feature food, face painting, games and more. The Hispanic Real Estate Brokers Association will also be on hand to answer questions about the home-buying process. Local businesses will provide information about their services as well.

Unidos, hosted by the Arlington Police Department with support from City of Arlington departments, is a Hispanic community outreach program designed to provide assistance to Spanish-speaking residents in The American Dream City. Unidos Meetings are held every quarter and conducted entirely in Spanish.

Meetings feature speakers and topics that are not necessarily police related. Subjects of interest can vary with relevance to the Hispanic community. Meetings focus on improving the quality of life for Spanish-speaking residents and families. Unidos acts as a resource information center. Spanish speaking officers are also available to meet one-on-one with residents to help them find answers to questions or solutions to individual needs. Unidos involves the participation of Hispanic community leaders, bilingual employees from other City of Arlington departments, and Spanish-speaking professionals from across the community.
