The University of Texas at Arlington intercollegiate athletics department and Learfield have agreed to a 7-year contract with global apparel manufacturer Under Armour (NYSE: UA) for the brand to serve as the official clothing, footwear and equipment supplier for each of the Mavericks' 15 NCAA Division I athletic programs beginning July 1, 2018.

"We are proud to associate UTA athletics with Under Armour, a company that has developed a reputation based on innovation and high performance," said Jim Baker, UTA's Director of Athletics. "This relationship presents a great opportunity to expand the resources available for each of our teams. It also provides dynamic, high quality apparel, footwear and equipment that emphasize our commitment to student-athlete competitive success."

Beginning this fall, UTA's baseball, men and women's basketball, men and women's golf, softball, men and women's tennis, men and women's cross country/track and field and volleyball programs will be outfitted exclusively in training gear and game day uniforms and will utilize equipment provided by Under Armour.

Founded in 1996 by former University of Maryland football player Kevin Plank, Under Armour is the originator of performance apparel - gear engineered to keep athletes cool (HeatGear) and warm (ColdGear), as well as dry and light (AllSeasonGear) when the conditions aren't as extreme. Headquartered in Baltimore, Under Armour is a leading innovator, marketer and distributor of branded performance athletic apparel, footwear and accessories. Designed to make all athletes better, the brand's innovative products are sold worldwide to consumers with active lifestyles. The company's Connected Fitness™ platform powers the world's largest digitally connected health and fitness community. For further information, please visit www.uabiz.com.

Under Armour is officially endorsed by top professional athletes such as Tom Brady, Stephen Curry, Bryce Harper, Clayton Kershaw, Cam Newton, Jordan Spieth, Lindsey Vonn, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and many others. UTA joins Under Armour's growing roster of NCAA Division I partners, which includes Auburn, Boston College, California, Maryland, Northwestern, Notre Dame, South Carolina, UCLA and Wisconsin. The Mavericks will become Under Armour's fifth Division I school in Texas, along with Texas Tech, Houston Baptist, Stephen F. Austin and Texas Southern.

Official public unveilings of UTA team uniforms, apparel and equipment will take place periodically beginning this summer - online at UTAMavs.com and through the athletic department's various social media channels. UTA-branded Under Armour apparel is currently available at UTAGear.com and through the UTA Bookstore, a proud partner of UTA Athletics and official UA provider, both online and in the on-campus.
