Scam-Alert

Oncor is warning its customers in Arlington that scammers are calling people and telling them that they need to pay their bill by phone or they will be disconnected.

These scammers are "spoofing" Oncor's 888.313.4747 hotline and are asking customers to call back to a different phone number to make a payment. When residents call the scammers' phone number they will hear the message: "Welcome to the Business Center. To make a payment, press 1".

"Oncor values the public's trust and takes imposters seriously," the company posted on its Facebook page. "Please remember, we will never request payment to prevent your power from being disconnected. Do not give out credit card information, social security number or any personal information to an imposter."

To report suspicious behavior, please call Oncor at 888.313.6862.
