1. George W. Hawkes Downtown Library Grand Opening

The public is invited to come out this weekend and explore the new George W. Hawkes Downtown Library, which will officially open its doors at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018. The Downtown Library, located at 100 S. Center St. just north of City Hall, will provide access, knowledge, and resources through cutting-edge technology, extensive print and digital collections and dynamic and enriching programming for the entire community. Saturday's grand opening will offer programs and events for all ages. The morning will kick off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m. and will be followed by various activities and programs until 6 p.m. These include story times, technology demonstrations, guided tours, dessert and much more.

2. International Folk Art Market Arlington

The International Folk Art Market will return to Arlington for its second year, where more than 40 master folk artists from 30 different countries will exhibit and sell their handmade artworks. The three-day Market, set for June 14-16, will be held The Green at College Park on the University of Texas at Arlington campus. More than $350,000 worth of art is expected to be sold in 2018, with prices ranging from $5-$5,000. Seventy-five percent of profits go home with the artists to benefit their families and communities.

3. Levitt Pavilion Arlington's 2018 Concert Series

2018 will be a year of celebration for Levitt Pavilion Arlington as it begins its 10th year of free music. The concert season will be packed with some of the Levitt's most popular artists over the last nine years. Summer concerts continue through July 22. Fall concerts are Aug. 31 through Oct. 21. Concert nights will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Family Movie Night will be on Thursdays through July 12. Most concerts and movie nights are at 8 p.m. Summer concerts and movies after July 3 will begin at 8:30 p.m. For more information, please visit levittpavilionarlington.org. 4. Cut! Costume and Cinema at Arlington Museum of Art

The Cut! Costume and the Cinema exhibit runs through Sunday, August 12, allowing visitors to step onto the movie set with 43 costumes from 27 period films. Some highlights include Johnny Depp's costume from Pirates of the Caribbean, pieces from the Costume Academy Award winner, The Duchess, and Emmy Rossum's gown from The Phantom of the Opera. The Arlington Museum of Art is located at 201 W. Main St. in Downtown Arlington's growing cultural arts district.

5. Arlington Parks & Recreation's Food Truck Friday Dinner Series - LAST CHANCE

Looking to enjoy dinner outdoors? The Arlington Parks and Recreation Department's fabulous Food Truck Fridays dinner series continues this week in north Arlington. This dinner series will take place from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. this Friday night at the River Legacy Parks Elm Grove Pavilion, 701 N.W. Green Oaks Blvd. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets to the food truck events, as seating is limited. 6. Hurricane Harbor

It's time to break out the swimwear, slather on the sunscreen, and dust off your sunglasses for a fun-filled season at Hurricane Harbor! This summer season is sure to rock with plenty of activities for the entire family. Cool off with the kiddos at Hook's Lagoon with four mini slides, water sprayers and shallow water to splash around in. For the thrills seekers in the family, hop onto Tornado and travel down the 132 foot slide in the mouth of a gigantic funnel. Hurricane Harbor will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday and 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Continuing this Friday, June 15 through August 10, the water park will play your favorite films on a Texas-sized big screen over the iconic wave pool.

7. Six Flags Over Texas

Six Flags Over Texas, the Thrill Capital of Texas, continues its 57th season in The American Dream City. The park will open this weekend for guests to enjoy their favorite coasters and attractions, while preparations continue for the late spring debut of the ultimate Super-Villain thrill ride-HARLEY QUINN Spinsanity. The park's operating hours are from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. 8. Las Vegas Aces vs. Dallas Wings at College Park Center

The Dallas Wings will host the Phoenix Mercury at College Park Center in Arlington this Friday, June 15 at 7 p.m. CT. The home game will also be televised on Fox Sports Southwest Plus. After making an appearance in the 2017 WNBA Playoffs led by three-time all-star Skylar Diggins-Smith and 2017 WNBA Rookie of the Year Allisha Gray, the Wings look to hold a promising 2018 campaign with the inclusion of 6 foot, 8-inch Australian Center Liz Cambage. 9. Arlington Parks and Recreation's Tiny Tots Triathlon

Your little one doesn't need a 12-week training course to finish this triathlon. Children ages 3-10 will bike a 1/4 mile, run 200 yards, and water slide their way to the finish line at Arlington Parks and Recreation's 2018 Tiny Tots Triathlon. The triathlon is set for 9 a.m., Saturday, June 16 at River Legacy Parks, 701 NE Green Oaks Blvd. Participants will need to wear tennis shoes, comfortable athletic clothes, and bring their own bicycle or tricycle with a helmet. Medals will be awarded to all participants who finish. One parent helper is allowed per child ages 3-6. Pre-registration is required and costs $15 per child. 10. Rockies vs. Rangers at Globe Life Park in Arlington

The Texas Rangers host the Colorado Rockies at Globe Life Park in Arlington this weekend for a three-game series. The Rangers will play at 7:05 p.m. CT on Friday, 3:05 p.m. CT on Saturday, and at 2:05 p.m. CT on Sunday. Fans will enjoy a fireworks show after the game on Friday. Friday is also Army Appreciation Night and Texas A&M University Night. On Saturday, the first 15,000 fans will receive a Dr. Pepper/Albertsons Adrian Beltre Best Friends Bobblehead and the first 15,000 fans at Sunday's game will receive a FOX Sports Southwest/Southwest Airlines Rangers Reversible Bucket Hat. 11. Arlington Father's Day Events & Specials

Father's Day is coming up soon – Sunday, June 17 to be exact. 12. Live Music at Grease Monkey Burger Shop & Social Club

Head over to Grease Monkey Burger Shop & Social Club in Downtown Arlington for two nights of live music this weekend. On Friday night, Van Darien performs at 9 p.m. Raised on folk and rock'n roll, lyrical stories and blues groove drive the heart of her musical vehicle. On Saturday night, residents and visitors can check out Derek Lee. Lee began writing and playing songs live in 2015 with the support of his wife and his family pushing him to pursue his dream. That show gets underway at 9 p.m. Grease Monkey is located at 200 N Mesquite St, Arlington, TX 76011.

13. Live Music at J.R. Bentley's

The Jax Bros. are set to perform this Friday, June 15, 2018 at J.R. Bentley's in Downtown Arlington. The show starts at 8 p.m. On Saturday, Brendan Kyle will perform. That show also begins at 8 p.m. Situated in a historic home, J.R. Bentley's has the feel of an authentic English pub and features several local and area bands throughout the year. 14. Urban Traders Market at Urban Union - LAST CHANCE
