National-Night-Out

Stop by the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library this Saturday for information on National Night Out, a Human Trafficking presentation and more as part of the Arlington Police Department's National Night Out/Project 365 Kickoff.

This free event is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to noon July 21 in re[Brary} Room A at the new library, located at 100 S. Center St. in Downtown Arlington.

Residents can learn more about the benefits of participating in National Night Out, set for Oct. 2 this year, as well as information on City of Arlington services and resources. Click here to register your neighborhood for National Night Out.

National Night Out, held the first Tuesday of October in Texas, promotes crime prevention, police-community partnership and neighborhood camaraderie. It encourages people to turn on their porch lights, step outside, and get to know their neighbors at small block parties. Law enforcement agencies stop by the parties to offer public safety tips and ways to stay connected to their local police departments.

Project365 is a program to extend the efforts of crime prevention, police-community partnership and neighborhood camaraderie beyond National Night Out. Arlington's Project365 is focusing on Human Trafficking. Contact your local Crime Prevention Officer for a presentation:

  • East District: Officer Marisa Sandham - 817-459-5817
  • North District: Officer Kim Fretwell - 817-459-5589
  • West District: Officer Doug Glotfelty - 817-459-6072
  • South District: Officer Tim Hayden - 817-459-6468

The Arlington Police Department will be offering National Night Out party packages to communities who have attended a Human Trafficking presentation between Aug. 13 and Sept. 14. However, Arlington communities/registered parties must be registered for National Night Out prior to qualifying for a party package. Supplies are limited.
