Central Express

Central Express, the Arlington Public Library's temporary downtown location, is closing permanently on Friday, March 29. This closure is in preparation to move into the new Downtown Library, which will open to the public in June. The public computers, books, local history resources, and other items at Central Express will be moved to the new Downtown Library this spring.

Patrons who pick up requests at Central Express are encouraged to change their hold location to a different branch in preparation for the location's closing. Beginning in March, holds will not be delivered to Central Express.

The outdoor item return box will remain available, so patrons can bring back their books and other items even after Central Express has closed.

Central Express, located on the corner of Division and North Cooper, was opened in 2015 to provide a limited range of services while the new Downtown Library was under construction. Patrons have enjoyed access to public computers and printing, genealogy and local history items, and new books for all ages. Once construction on the Downtown Library is finished in the spring, these resources will be moved into the new building. They'll be joined by books currently in storage or in use at other branches.

The Library's six other branches will remain open during the Downtown Library move. Click here to see all locations and hours.
