 Hobbies at Maker Nights

Learn a new skill, meet different people, and experience the library after hours in this fall's free Maker Night series. This series of workshops offers a different experience at each meeting. Take a break from reading or streaming and get your hands messy!

Each Maker Night offers a no-pressure environment where you can explore the creative process with other curious learners. Classes are designed by local experts for attendees with absolutely no experience, so every skill level is welcomed.

Maker Nights are on Friday evenings, after the library's normal closing hours. These workshops are for adults 18+. Classes are free, but to allow us to order enough supplies, some sessions require online registration to attend. See the full schedule below.

Beekeeping

September 22, 6:30 - 8 p.m., Southeast Branch

Join Texas Master Beekeeper-Advanced, Richard Threlkeld to explore the interesting world of beekeeping. He's the treasurer of the Metro Beekeepers Association where their motto is "Saving the bees one hive at a time.” Discover the many benefits of raising bees (it's not just for their honey!), the impact this small insect has on our daily life, and what it takes to raise them yourself.

Coffee Cupping with Urban Alchemy

Coffee cupping, or coffee tasting, is the practice of observing the tastes and aromas of brewed coffee.

Join us for a coffee cupping demonstration and sampling from Downtown Arlington's newest coffee bar, Urban Alchemy.
