2nd Annual Frame4Frame Festival

Dedicated to raising cultural awareness and appreciation for the diverse creative population in the Arlington area, the second annual Frame4Frame Festival is set for Thursday, Sept. 21, through Sunday, Sept. 24. The festival will feature film at Studio Movie Grill in Arlington Lincoln Square, art at the Arlington Museum of Art, and music at J. Gilligan's in The American Dream City. Frame4Frame will screen a diverse collection of films from both studios and independent filmmakers. Live music and art exhibits will be featured at venues around The University of Texas at Arlington and elsewhere in the city.

Arlington Parks - Recreation's Food Truck Friday Dinner Series

Join Arlington Parks and Recreation for Food Truck Dinners at Stovall Park, 2800 W. Sublett Rd. from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. every Friday through October 6. Each week we will feature a new lineup of food trucks for you to try out. This Friday night's food truck line up includes Chicago's Taste - More, Chez Flo, Holy Frijole and Mardi Gras Cajun Cuisine. If you need a sweet treat after dinner, stop by Rockin Rooster Snow Cones or Steel City Pops.

Levitt Pavilion Arlington's Fall Benefit Concert

The classic rock band Kansas will headline Levitt Pavilion's annual benefit concert on Sept. 23. Special guest Starship (featuring Mickey Thomas) will also perform on Saturday. Fright Fest at Six Flags Over Texas

Six Flags Over Texas, the Thrill Capital of Texas, will turn into the Fright Capital of Texas offering the Scariest Fright Fest Ever with an all-new scare zone, eye-catching and thrilling performance, plus a unique event that is appropriate for the holiday season. This year's Halloween festival will have a 22 day run beginning Saturday, September 23. To plan your visit in advance, head over to the Six Flags Over Texas for park hours and ticket information.

Six Flags Hurricane Harbor

From thrilling slides to relaxing pools, Arlington residents and visitors will be happy to hear that Hurricane Harbor is open on weekends through October 1. The water park in Arlington's Entertainment District will be open Saturday and Sunday, September 23-24, 2017. Hurricane Harbor will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days. Six Flags Hurricane Harbor features 47 acres of water wonderland to enjoy. Spend the day zooming down the adventure slides, or just kick back in the sun and relax with your friends. Charley Pride at Arlington Music Hall

Legendary country musician Charley Pride performs at Arlington Music Hall this Friday, September 22, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. After recording his first single in January 1966, Pride went on to record 36 No. 1 hits and watched four of his albums go platinum. He has also been listed among the Top 20 best-selling country artists of all time and is second in sales only to Elvis Presley. Johnny Lee at Arlington Music Hall - Helping Hurricane Harvey Victims

Country music singer Johnny Lee and several other artists hit the Arlington Music Hall stage this Saturday, September 23 at 7:30 p.m. for a night to help those impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Lee's single "Lookin' for Love"became a crossover hit, spending three weeks at number 1 on the Billboard country singles chart while also appearing in the Top 5 on the Billboard Pop chart and Top 10 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary chart. He racked up a series of country hits in the early and mid-1980s. Bus Stop at Theatre Arlington

Theatre Arlington, which is one of the largest community theatres in the country, will open its 45th anniversary season on Friday, September 22, 2017 with Bus Stop, an American classic comedy/drama. The show runs through October 22. Other scheduled shows through next August include the musicals, Plaid Tidings and Footloose, as well as A.R. Gurney's romantic comedy Sylvia. The performance schedule for Bus Stop is included below:

  • Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
  • Friday - Saturday at 8:00 p.m.
  • Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

Arlington Evolution Art Exhibition at Gallery 900

In September 2016, the Arlington Artist Guild and Gallery 900 partnered together to create a dynamic Contemporary Art Gallery for the City of Arlington. The gallery, which was untitled for it's first year, was later named Gallery 900 in 2017 for its address, 900 West Main Street Arlington, TX 76013. The ARLINGTON EVOLution Art Exhibition is a direct reflection of the rebirth of the arts in Arlington. This collection includes over a dozen artists, with more than 225 works from all artistic backgrounds. The exhibition will be Saturday September, 23, 2017, from 6-10 p.m. Food and refreshments will be provided.

Shows at UTA Planetarium

UTA Planetarium continues to offer shows to residents and visitors. This includes Stars of the Pharaohs, a planetarium show that visitors on a journey to ancient Egypt to see how science was used to tell time, make a workable calendar, and align huge buildings.
