Library’s Fall Book

The Book and Author Luncheon is back with another elegant occasion this fall. Join the Friends and Foundation of the Arlington Public Library on October 26, 2017, for this semiannual fundraiser, which gives attendees the chance to meet local authors. This fall's featured writers are Clay Small and Joyce Roach Gibson. Tickets are required to attend and are available to purchase online. As always, all Luncheon proceeds benefit the Arlington Public Library.

Clay Small pulled upon his life experience as an attorney, professor, and world traveler to write his legal thriller Heels over Head. After a career in corporate law, Small is still involved in the north Texas legal community as an SMU professor and a Fellow of the Dallas Bar Association. Readers of Heels over Head will notice similarities between Small's career path and that of the main character, who's struggling to find a new life teaching law after leaving the executive suite. Reserve your tickets now to learn more about Small and his book at the Luncheon.

Joyce Gibson Roach's long career as a Texas folklorist, historian, rancher, and naturalist is evident in her collection of fiction and non-fiction books. Roach has written, edited, or contributed to more than 30 works focusing on Texas and the Southwest. In between teaching occasional classes at TCU on the American Southwest, this member of the Texas Institute of Letters and National Cowgirl Hall of Fame honoree spends her time managing her family's ranch in Wise County. Discover her views on Texas and the Southwest this October at the Luncheon.

The Fall Book and Author Luncheon is this October 26, 2017, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Shady Valley Country Club. Tickets are $30 a plate and are required to attend. Tickets are available online until October 16.
