UTA Spotlight: Tri Delta Sorority Raises Money For St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

Greetings from The American Dream City! Be sure to tune into the newest installment of UTA Spotlight, a weekly news update featuring broadcasting students reporting on events, projects, announcements and other key news and happenings on the university campus and around Arlington.

Among this week's top stories:

  • Tri Delta Sorority hosted its second annual Delta Madness charity basketball tournament benefiting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The sorority raised more than $4,000 for the charity even before the tournament, which included shirt sales, raffle ticket sales, and entry fees.
  • Perena Gouma, a professor in the Materials Science and Engineering Department at UTA, invented a hand-held breath monitor that can detect the flu virus.
  • IRS certified volunteers will be in the Central Library until April 15 to assist students with preparing their federal income taxes.
