Already planning your next neighborhood gathering? The City of Arlington has a Block Party Trailer filled with picnic tables, ice chests, games and other party needs available for free to registered neighborhood groups.
The goal of the Block Party Trailer is to advance community engagement goals in The American Dream City by providing a fun way for neighbors to get together.
"Block parties are a great way for neighbors to meet in a casual, fun setting. We love to see our Arlington families connect and come to care for each other as well as for the overall health and vibrancy of their neighborhoods,"Senior Planner Sarah Stubblefield said.
Eligible neighborhood groups must submit an application to reserve the trailer at least 7 days before their scheduled event. If approved, the trailer will be dropped off the Friday before the party and picked up the Monday after.
The trailer contains picnic tables, folding tables, chairs, water coolers, ice chests, trash and recycling cans, games, street barricades, cones and more.
The Block Party Trailer, which launched last year, aligns with the City Council priority to Champion Great Neighborhoods.
