MyArlingtonTV is taking a trip across The American Dream City to showcase some of the diverse musical acts happening in Arlington's schools, restaurants, churches and neighborhoods.

Hosted by Tika Cook, "Backstage Arlington" highlights some of the different music acts and performing venues that exist in Arlington. The newest episode features the youth acting classes available at Theatre Arlington in Downtown.

The episode features three students from the musical theatre class for ages 11-13 taught by Maggie Younkin. Younkin has been teaching at Theatre Arlington since 2005 and is an accomplished performer, having worked on the Theatre Arlington stage in many productions as well as on stages in Kansas City, where she is originally from.

The musical theatre class provides kids with an introduction to acting, dance and voice by teaching the basic environment and tools of the triple threat performer and how to use them. This course is grouped by age and the teen class is focused on contemporary musicals and styles, and audition songs.

Theatre Arlington is located in Downtown at 305 W Main St., Arlington, TX 76010. For questions about the acting classes available at the theatre, please contact Cindy Honeycutt at 817-261-9628.
