Ronnie Milsap at Arlington Music Hall

Ronnie Milsap ranks as the pre-eminent country soul singer of his generation. Milsap provided country music with one of its most important voices, as the genre was moving beyond its rural roots into the mainstream of modern entertainment. Even as he mastered Beethoven and Mozart, his heart belonged to hard core country and rhythm-and-blues - music he heard beamed from powerful radio stations located in Nashville. Ronny Milsap will be at the Arlington Music Hall this Friday, March 31, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. CT. Mark Willis - Operation Red River at Arlington Music Hall

Operation Red River is an event put on by the Texas based non-profit Veteran Forces. The mission of Operation Red River is to thank veterans for their courage, selflessness and sacrifice to our country. Mark Wills is a multi-platinum selling country music star with eight top 10 hits to his name including "19 Something," "Wish You Were Here" and "Don't Laugh At Me;" all of which received nominations for Single, Song and Video of the Year by the Country Music Association. Jared Ashley, Buddy Owens, Galen Griffin and Sal Gonzalez will also be performing on Saturday, April 1 at 7:30 p.m. Residents and visitors can purchase tickets for this show on the Arlington Music Hall website or call the box office at 817-226-4400.

Arlington Animal Services Peter Piper Pizza Fundraiser

Participate in the Peter Piper Pizza fundraiser for Arlington Animal Services, at 4800 South Cooper Street on Friday, March 31 from 11 a.m. -9 p.m. only. Mention this event at the time of your purchase, and 15% of your purchase will be rebated to Animal Services to go towards educational programs for our community. Additionally, there will be half price pet adoptions at Arlington Animal Services on the date of this event.

AISD Education Celebration

The Arlington ISD Education Foundation is teaming up with Six Flags Over Texas again this year to host an education celebration from 6 to 11 pm Friday, March 31, 2017. Participants will get to enjoy a private party at the park open to only those celebrating with AISD and the Arlington ISD Education Foundation! This event benefits both AISD schools and the foundation by giving $5 from each ticket back to your designated AISD school. A special discount code will be given at the time of purchase to select which school the $5 donation will benefit.Tickets are just $20 if purchased in advance. Tickets will be available for purchase at the gates the day of the event for $29.99.

Arlington Golf Demo Day

Arlington Tennis Center's Friday Night N.E.T.s

Arlington Tennis Center's Friday Night N.E.T.s are short, non-elimination mini tournaments, singles and/or doubles, that used shortened scoring. Players will be matched with opponents of similar skill levels (if known). N.E.T.s are designed to allow juniors ages 11-18 an evening of fun tennis games and competition. Tents and Tales Campout

Join Arlington Parks and Recreation for a night under the stars for a campout at River Legacy Parks, 701 NW Green Oaks Blvd.The annual Tents and Tales Campout is set from 4 p.m. Friday, March 31 to 7 a.m. Saturday, April 1. The night will include dinner, a movie under the stars (Zootopia), sleeping bag story time and s'mores roasted over a fire pit.The registration fee is $10 per person. Children ages 2 and under are free. Preregistration is required. Please call the Parks and Recreation Department at 817-459-6434 for more information and help registering. No pets please! Every child must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

UTA's Annual Glass Art Sale

The annual Annual Glass Art Sale is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, at UTA's Studio Art Center, 810 South Davis Drive. This free event is open to the public and will showcase more than 1,000 handmade creations from the UTA faculty, staff and students in the College of Liberal Arts Glass Art program. Items available for purchase will range from paperweights and vases to sculptures and other collector items. Attendees will be able to enjoy live demonstrations of glassblowing and glass-casting, as well as have the opportunity to participate in a raffle and silent auction.

Spring Shows at UTA Planetarium

UTA Planetarium has announced its spring schedule of shows through May 28, 2017. This lineup is featured in the latest episode of "Culture Buzz" and includes Phantom of the Universe, a new planetarium show that unveils scientists' efforts to explore Dark Matter. The show focuses on the Large Hadron Collider, the gigantic underground particle detector which is being used to explore the inner workings of the matter. Dark Matter is invisible and we only know of its existence due to its gravitational effect. It is believed that 85 percent of the matter in the universe is Dark Matter.
