Arlington Public Library's Summer Reading Club Kickoff Parties

Arlington residents of all ages are invited to Build a Better World with the Arlington Public Library's 2017 Summer Reading Club. This year's construction-themed program begins June 3 and runs until July 29. Summer Reading Club Kickoff Parties will take place at every library location from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday. Families are invited to register at sign-up tables, then enjoy a morning of games and activities. If you are unable to come to the Kickoff, you can always register at MySRC.org starting June 3.

Levitt Pavilion's 2017 Summer Concert Series

The annual summer concert series continues this Friday, June 2, 2017. Visitors will be able to attend a free concert under the stars three nights a week, every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through July 23. A few artists set to hit the stage this summer include Ambrosia, La Tropa F, Reckless Kelly, Sarah Jaffe, Los TexManiacs with Flaco Jimenez and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Bluegrass Band. Arlington Parks & Recreation's Food Truck Friday Dinner Series-EVENT CANCELED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER

Looking to enjoy dinner outdoors? The Arlington Parks and Recreation Department's Food Truck Fridays dinner series launches this week in north Arlington. This event will take place from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. every Friday until June 16 at River Legacy Parks Elm Grove Pavilion, 701 NE Green Oaks Blvd. Each Friday will feature a new lineup of food trucks, allowing visitors the opportunity to taste and try out different fare. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets to the food truck events, as seating is limited. The food truck line-ups will be announced the Wednesday before each event at www.naturallyfun.org/foodtruck.

Texas Rangers Play Ball Weekend

The Texas Rangers and the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation are set to host special events for local kids as part of Major League Baseball's annual Play Ball Weekend. On Sunday, June 4, the festivities will include Arlington Mayor Jeff Williams reading a proclamation in celebration of Play Ball Weekend at the Texas Rangers Youth Ballpark. Stations at the baseball clinic will be facilitated by Youth Ballpark coaches, and the day will also feature guest appearances from Rangers alumni, Rangers Captain, and the Six Shooters. Activities are scheduled to run from 10:00 a.m. to noon. The team will also host the Houston Astros for a three-game series this weekend. Six Flags Over Texas

Spend the weekend at Six Flags Over Texas with all your friends and family celebrating all things summer. Enjoy some delicious summer-time favorites hot off the grill along with American-sized thrills on our roller coasters such as BATMAN The Ride, SUPERMAN: Tower of Power and MR. FREEZE: Reverse Blast. The Joker free-fly coaster is also open at Six Flags. After being lifted straight up a 12-story, 90-degree hill, riders flip head-over-heels up to six times along the weightless journey. Six Flags Hurricane Harbor

From thrilling slides to relaxing pools, Arlington residents and visitors will be happy to hear that Hurricane Harbor is now open. The water park in Arlington's Entertainment District will be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 2-4, 2017 from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday and 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Six Flags Hurricane Harbor features 47 acres of water wonderland to enjoy. Spend the day zooming down the adventure slides, or just kick back in the sun and relax with your friends. Bottle Baby Foster Pet Volunteer Event

Are you an animal lover looking for a rewarding experience? Attend a bottle baby foster class held in partnership with Arlington Cats Alive! on Saturday, June 3 from 1 - 2 p.m. at the Animal Services Center at 1000 S.E. Green Oaks Blvd. Learn about how to bottle feed an unweaned kitten and about the Foster Pet Program. Youth under the age of 18 in attendance must be accompanied by an adult. Wynonna & The Big Noise at Arlington Music Hall

She'll be joined by The Big Noise this Friday, June 2 at Arlington Music Hall in Downtown. The concert gets underway at 7:30 p.m. Respected by the millions of fans who are drawn to her music and her undeniable talent, Wynonna's rich and commanding voice has sold over 30 million albums worldwide spanning her epic career. Milton H. Greene: Women Exhibit at Arlington Museum of Art

This summer, the Arlington Museum of Art will continue its tradition of photography exhibits with Milton Greene: Women, which opened on May 13 and will run through Aug 6. "Photography has been a huge success at the Arlington Museum of Art,"Hightower said. "Our two most attended exhibits, Ansel Adams and Vivian Maier, were photography exhibits. I chose Milton Greene's work because he was famous for his work with celebrities in the '50s, '60s and '70s such as Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and Frank Sinatra."The Arlington Museum of Art of located at 201 W.
