Red Cross DFW to Host Free Smoke Alarm Installation Event in Arlington

Installation Event in Arlington

The American Red Cross is celebrating its service to the Armed Forces initiatives this holiday season by supporting local events and partnering with area government organizations to make the DFW community safer.

In conjunction with the Armed Forces Bowl, members of the participating teams, Red Cross volunteers and the Arlington Fire Department will install free smoke alarms in The Oaks at Arlington neighborhood as part of the Red Cross Sound the Alarm campaign.

A Sound the Alarm installation event will be held this Thursday, December 21, 2017 from 1-3:30 p.m. at The Oaks at Arlington neighborhood, located at 2501 W. Sublett Rd. Arlington, TX 76017. Please call Renee Felton (214.288.9060) upon arrival to be directed to the appropriate location in the neighborhood.

Red Cross North Texas CEO Keith Rhodes, Red Cross volunteers, Armed Forces Bowl athletes representing Army and San Diego State University, the Arlington Fire Department and residents from The Oaks at Arlington will all be on hand for the event.

For the sixth consecutive year, the Red Cross is the nonprofit partner of the Armed Forces Bowl, scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Saturday, December 23, 2017 at TCU's Amon G. Carter Stadium. The match-up features the Army Black Knights and San Diego State Aztecs.
