The community is invited to help the City of Arlington celebrate the grand opening and dedication of Fire Station 12.

The ceremony and ribbon cutting begins at 1:15 p.m. Friday, December 15, 2017. The newly renovated station is located at 5050 S. Collins Street near the Arlington Municipal Airport.

This South Arlington fire station underwent its first major renovation since opening in the 1980s.

The $1.9 million bond project, which began in January, added nearly 1,000 square feet of living space and an additional drive-thru bay for the station's vehicles. These improvements enable the station to accommodate needs for privacy, disabilities, work space and a future aircraft firefighting and rescue vehicle.
