Blue Jays vs. Rangers ALDS Playoff Games at Globe Life Park in Arlington

Your Texas Rangers are ready to start their postseason journey in the American League Division Series this Thursday and Friday, October 6-7, 2016 at Globe Life Park in Arlington. The best-of-five series invites a re-match with the Jays after the Rangers lost to Toronto in the 2015 ALDS. First pitch on Thursday is at 3:38 p.m. CT and the game on Friday starts at 12:08 p.m. CT. The Rangers will play at least one road game depending on the outcome in Games 1 and 2. Game 3 will take place on Sunday, October 9 at 6:38 p.m. CT. If you can't make it to the playoff games at home, they will be nationally televised on TBS. Residents and visitors can also check out the new Rangers post-season menu unveiled this week.

Arlington Parks and Recreation's Food Truck Friday Dinner Series

Looking to enjoy dinner outdoors? The Arlington Parks and Recreation Department's Food Truck Fridays series continues week at Stovall Park. This Friday night's food truck line up includes Butchers Son, What's Cooking Chef,Rockn' Ricks, Bellatrino's Neapolitan Pizzeria and Sandwiches Around the World. If you need a sweet treat after dinner, stop by Steel City Pops or Todally Ice's trucks. Soulful Gypsy's fashion truck will also be on scene. Ventana Grille will also be onsite featuring Legal Draft Beer Co. along with other beer and wine options. Food Truck Fridays are scheduled from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. each Friday at Stovall Park, 2800 W. Sublett Road, until Oct. 14.

Six Flags Over Texas Fright Fest

Six Flags Over Texas has announced it will introduce Rage of the Gargoyles Virtual Reality on the Shock Wave roller coaster during this year's Fright Fest! Using Samsung Gear VR powered by Oculus, riders are transported into the incredibly immersive world of virtual reality and become pilots of an Apache-style helicopter and transported into a futuristic battle against blood-thirsty gargoyles on Shock Wave. Also new this Fright Fest season, those who are brave enough to walk the park's midways at night will be introduced to a wicked and blood thirsty journey in the scare zone Black Widow's Walk and the ultimate full-sensory adventure - Blackout haunted house. Fright Fest runs, on select days, through Monday, October 31.

Eunice Activity Center's 46th Annual Craft Fair

Join Eunice Activity Center for a family friendly day of shopping, food, and fun at their 46th Annual Craft Fair this Saturday, October 8 from 9 am to 4 pm! Admission is FREE! Come browse and shop over 50 vendors selling hand made crafts, specialty gifts, and homemade foods. There will also be door prizes, a food truck, balloon artist and face painting. River Legacy Foundation's 20th Annual After Dark in the Park

Pick out your Halloween costumes and get ready for fun - River Legacy Foundation's 20th annual After Dark in the Park event is set for the second weekend in October. The annual family friendly fall celebration will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. October 7 through October 9 at the River Legacy Living Science Center, 703 NW Green Oaks Boulevard in north Arlington. Entry is $8 per person for all ages 3 and up. All proceeds benefit the Foundation's environmental education programs at the park's Science Center. The cost of admission includes most activities; still some will require extra purchased coupons. Residents are welcome to purchase Family Fun Packs at the River Legacy Science Center by October 6 or online at http://www.riverlegacy.org. A $45 Fun Pack includes 4 admission tickets and $20 of activity and food coupons.

UT Arlington Lady Mavs Volleyball

Come out and support your UT Arlington Lady Mavs Volleyball team this weekend at College Park Center in Downtown! The team squares off against Little Rock on Friday, October 7 and Arkansas State on Saturday, October 8. Both matches start at 6:30 p.m. CT. For more information, please visit the UTA Athletics website. If you are looking to grab tickets this weekend, head over to UTATICKETS.com. The Lady Mavs carry a 6-3 record at home and a 3-1 record in the Sun Belt Conference. The team returns home to College Park Center next Thursday, October 13 for a match-up against Texas State at 6:30 p.m. CT.

Arlington Music Hall presents: Russian Grand Ballet-Swan Lake

Residents and visitors have only one opportunity to see the full-length classic production of the world's most famous ballet -Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake, featuring Russia's brightest ballet stars! The performance takes place at Arlington Music Hall in Downtown this Saturday, October 8 at 7:30 p.m. Russian Grand Ballet was founded by and incorporated graduates from the Great Russian choreographic schools of Moscow, St. Petersburg and Kiev. The principal dancers of the company came from the upper ranks of the great ballet companies and academies. Today, the Russian Grand Ballet Theatre is its own institution, with over 50 brilliant dancers. You can purchase tickets atwww.arlingtonmusichall.net.

"Ulterior Motifs" at Arlington Museum of Art

The Arlington Museum of Art, Arlington Cultural Tourism Council, and Wheeler Bro's Studios is proud to present the 14th instillation of the renowned group exhibition known as Ulterior Motifs. Conceived in 1999 by Jeffrey and Bryan Wheeler as a celebratory exhibition of Lubbock art and music, this semi-regular show has gradually evolved into a wider presentation of prominent contemporary artists who live in or maintain strong ties to Texas. It's the Star of Texas Challenge and you can join the race. The City and the Arlington Museum of Art challenge residents to visit the 20 stars positioned throughout Arlington and check out each artist's interpretation of what makes Arlington the American Dream City!
