Madeleine Rowe, senior cross country runner for Arlington High School, has been selected as the City of Arlington's Student-Athlete of the Month for November 2016.

Madeleine qualified as an individual for the state cross country championships, the only Arlington ISD runner - girl or boy - to qualify. Last month, Madeleine won the girls district title with a time of 19:43.

Her favorite subjects in school are English and history and she continues to excel in AP classes as a senior at Arlington High. Madeleine's ultimate dream is to reach the Olympic Games as a runner for Team USA.

First-year Girls Cross Country Coach Sadie Cruz leaned on Madeleine's leadership skills during the season and is proud of the positive example she continues to set for her teammates in and out of the classroom.
