Want to learn how to keep the City's storm drains and creeks pollution free?
The Stormwater Management Division is providing educational presentations about the City's Storm Drain system and its function in reducing flooding.
This outreach program, aimed at homeowners associations, civic and community groups, parent-teacher associations and apartment complex management and residents, will also highlight the types of pollution that enter our storm drain and its effects on our local water quality. It will provide information on how our residents and business owners can help reduce the amount of pollutants entering our storm drain system and how they can help improve our water quality.
"This is an opportunity for community groups to engage their neighborhoods and organizations in activities which can prevent stormwater pollution, improve our local water quality and reduce flood risk," Environmental Education Specialist Melissa Walker said.
Walker offers 30-45 minute presentations throughout the year for Arlington community organizations and residents and is available in the evenings and on weekends. Topics include the Storm Drain System, Stormwater Pollution Prevention, and Flood Safety and Awareness.
