New ‘Business Over Breakfast

Local businesses can learn about available workforce resources and best practices in workforce management at the upcoming Business Over Breakfast event in Arlington.

The City of Arlington, TMAC, and Workforce Solutions are hosting the event, which will focus on overcoming workforce issues.

The breakfast will take place at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 23 at the Arlington Convention Center, 1200 Ballpark Way.

One of the biggest challenges faced by companies today is their workforce whether it' s attracting skilled laborers, training, on-boarding, or retaining workers. As such, the City of Arlington, Workforce Solutions of Tarrant County, and TMAC have teamed up to present a panel discussion on best practices and workforce resources available to Arlington businesses.

The event will consist of a keynote speech by William Krohn, Personnel Director at the GM Arlington Assembly Plant, and a panel discussion consisting of Amber Gosser of Workforce Solutions of Tarrant County; author and TMAC business advisor, Pat Botier; and Edward L Spears II, Director of Fort Worth IDS' s Office of Adult Education.

Tickets cost $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Breakfast will be provided.

' We hope that this event will be the first of many such educational events intended to address issues facing local businesses,' Matthew Harp, Economic Development Specialist said. ' It is the Office of Economic Development' s hope that this, and similar events, will help to highlight the numerous resources available to Arlington businesses in the surrounding community.'
