City of Arlington Receives

The City of Arlington was honored to receive eight awards at the annual Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers (TAMIO) conference in Arlington on June 10, 2016.

This year follows up a strong campaign in 2015, where Arlington took home 10 awards at the TAMIO conference in Houston.

The awards recognize outstanding communication by Texas communities in a variety of categories including website, social media, video production and publications.

Judging is conducted by non-TAMIO members with expertise in communications and municipal government.

The City' s news website, MyArlingtonTX.com, Ask Arlington, Arlington Eats and On the Clock segments on MyArlingtonTV were recognized.

' It is always humbling to have your work recognized by your peers,' said Marketing Communications Manager Jay Warren. ' But even more humbling is the response our communication has received from our residents with increased engagement on social media, increased page clicks on the City' s website and increased views on our YouTube channel.'

Also receiving awards were the City' s American Dream City brand chapter videos, fiscal year 2016 budget video and the City' s media relations campaign for the $1.4 billion investment by General Motors to the Arlington Assembly Plant last summer.
