Aquatics Division’s Annual ‘Make a Splash for Water Safety’ Event is Back

There are approximately 10 drowning deaths per day in the United States.

Make A Splash is a national child-focused water safety initiative of the USA Swimming Foundation. The Arlington Parks and Recreation Department, with the help of Mid-Cities Arlington Swim Team, is spreading the word about water safety by offering a morning of FREE water safety lessons and activities.

Grab your swimsuit and towel and come out to Allen Bolden Pool, located at 2800 S. Center Street inside Vandergriff Park from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 18. There will be demos with certified Water Safety Instructors, fun activities, safety related vendors and lunch provided!

Participants will receive a *voucher for a day of swimming after the event, as well as a *voucher to receive a session of free swimming lessons.
