Destiny Dominguez, junior for Sam Houston High School's women's wrestling team, has been selected as the City of Arlington's Student-Athlete of the Month for January 2016.

Dominguez excels both on the mat and in the classroom. Academically, she is in the top two-percent of her class and says her favorite subjects are math and science.

Amy McNease, the Head Coach of Sam Houston Women's Wrestling, says Destiny has been a strong leader during her three years with the team, motivating her teammates to be both better wrestlers and students in the classroom.

Destiny's sister, Legacy Dominguez, was also part of the Sam Houston High School women's wrestling team and is currently a student at Texas A&M.

While college is still more than a year away, Destiny says she plans to purse a degree in aerospace engineering. Congratulations to Destiny for being this month's honoree!
