Drivers will soon see landscaping improvements along Pioneer Parkway/SH-303 Corridor, after the Arlington City Council approved a design contract for the Green Ribbon Project in the amount of $48,900 at the evening session on Tuesday, January 12, 2016.
The project involves creating a landscape and irrigation design for the Green Ribbon Project, in accordance to Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) standards and regulations.
The project involves approximately 10 miles of median along the Pioneer Parkway/SH- 303 Corridor. The project limits begin on the west side of Arlington at the eastern border of Fort Worth and ends at the western border of Grand Prairie.
Improvements include landscape beds at key locations utilizing native plant material, drip irrigation, decomposed granite and landscape boulders. The project also includes the installation of trees and irrigation in the medians that will create a lush urban canopy within the project limits.
Construction costs in the amount of $400,000 will be reimbursed to the city from TxDOT at the conclusion of the project.
