Commerce Board of Directors Executive

The Arlington Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors Executive Committee has unanimously selected Michael Jacobson as its new President and CEO. Jacobson will be joining the Chamber early in February.

"We are extremely pleased to announce Michael Jacobson to lead our Chamber as we further elevate our position as a local and regional catalyst for business and economic development," stated Board Member & Interim President & CEO Kelly Curnutt. "Michael is an accomplished servant-leader of character with 30 years of relevant experience serving Chambers of Commerce, Fortune 500 companies and Presidential Administrations. We look forward to the significant contributions Michael will make serving our valued members and relationships with our city, schools, university, college and community partners."

Michel Jacobson will be joining the Arlington Chamber after having spent the past 19 years with Intel Corporation. At Intel, he led Intel's Global Corporate Responsibility Office responsible for strategic philanthropy and corporate responsibility strategies. During his tenure at Intel, Jacobson managed site selection processes, as well as representing Intel globally with government and economic development relationships. A native of Tarrant County, Jacobson formerly managed economic development with the Fort Worth Chamber, recruiting new businesses to our region by building critical support of community leaders, real estate developers, government officials, and regional colleagues. Prior to that, Jacobson served in both the Bush and Reagan Administrations after graduating from Baylor University.

"I am honored to have been selected by the Arlington Chamber to lead one of the largest and most respected business development organizations in Texas," stated Michael Jacobson. "Arlington is an extremely vibrant community. Its Chamber is uniquely positioned to provide superior economic benefits to current and prospective members through the guidance of the Board and support of all its community partners."

The Arlington Chamber of Commerce is in the midst of developing a revised, long-term strategic plan to capitalize on the community's strengths in areas such as education, manufacturing, entertainment, healthcare and other industries. Working in Board Teams, members are refining the Chamber's value proposition to address the needs of all opportunity market segments.

As summarized by the Chamber's Board Chair, Bob Kembel, "It is a perfect time for Michael Jacobson to lead our Chamber team. Through his exceptional economic development, public policy, stakeholder engagement and leadership skills, Michael will help us achieve a new level of success in and around the Arlington business community."
