Dreams come true in Arlington, as nearly 70 students representing six Arlington ISD schools signed their national letters of intent to nine different sports today, February 3, 2016.

The school district held its annual district-wide National Signing Day ceremony at the Professional Development Center in The American Dream City.

AISD Athletic Director Kevin Ozee was the emcee for the ceremony, which featured speeches from both Superintendent Dr. Marcelo Cavazos and guest speaker Ricky Brown, a fullback at the University of Texas from 1996-1999.

Brown played with star running back Ricky Williams during his time as a Longhorn and encouraged the students to look at signing day as the start of something special.

"I want everyone in this room to remember that this is only the beginning of your journey," said Brown to a packed crowd of students, their families and AISD faculty/staff.

Arlington ISD students at today's ceremony included Martin High School graduates Allison Wade and Cole "Sully" Billingsley, who both signed on to play golf for The University of Texas at Arlington.

December 2015 Student-Athlete of the Month Joshua Parrish was also in attendance, signing his letter of intent to play basketball at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth.
