Lamar High School Fine Arts Department Presents Seussical

Blue Curtain Productions and Arlington ISD's Lamar High School Fine Arts Department present Seussical, the musical based on the works of the great Dr. Seuss! The show is fun for the whole family and has become a loved classic for schools, communities and regional theatres across the country. The play runs Thursday, Friday and Saturday (February 4, 5 & 6) at 7 p.m. each night inside the Stephen D. Morris Auditorium at Lamar. Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults. Lamar High School is located at 1400 Lamar Blvd West, Arlington, Texas 76012.

UTA Maverick Theatre Company presents: Flight 12 Improv

Full of oh-no-you-didn't moments and steeped-in-fun, Maverick Theatre Company's FLIGHT 12 IMPROV has a comedic style that's always outrageous and never stale! This 12-member troupe features students from UT Arlington and is directed by Associate Professor Joe Chapa. FLIGHT 12 performances are Friday, February 5 and Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 8:00 p.m. at 502 South Cooper, Fine Arts Bldg. North, Studio Theatre, Room 137. Super Bowl Parties/Events in Arlington

Football fans rejoice! There's plenty of Super Bowl 50 parties and specials happening in The American Dream City for residents to check out this weekend. The Arlington Convention and Visitors Bureau is making it easier to map out your Sunday with the Seven Big Eats in Arlington for the Big Game listicle, the newest entry in the "The Pursuit of Happy" blog. The Denver Broncos square off against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, February 7, 2016. The biggest NFL game of the year will be nationally televised on CBS and kickoff gets underway around 5:30 p.m. CT.

Modern Masters from the Guild Hall Collection

This exhibition will feature work by 60 artists including Andy Warhol, Robert Rauschenberg, Jackson Pollock, Roy Lichtenstein, Willem de Kooning, and Robert Motherwell. Modern art has brought a fresh and unconventional approach to the creative community, expressing the loves, hates, ideas, beliefs, interests, passions, strengths, and weaknesses of a generation emerging in the mid-Twentieth Century. This exhibit will explore traditional mediums of art, outside the box, and how the art world embraced the work that represents a movement that changed the face of fine art in America. 2016 International Bowl at AT&T Stadium

Don't miss out on the final day of the 2016 International Bowl at AT&T Stadium in Arlington where USA Football will showcase some the nation's top high school football talent vs. Team Canada!The 2016 International Bowl takes place Friday, Feb. 5. Four U.S. National Teams will join U.S. Select Teams to compete in a series of games against Canadian National Teams. More than 500 top U.S. high school and junior high athletes will represent their country on the football field. First kickoff is at 1 p.m. CT on Friday. Residents and visitors and purchase their tickets on the event's website.

Astronaut at UTA Planetarium

See what it takes to become an Astronaut and the effect space has on the human body this Sunday, February 7 at UTA Planetarium! Narrated by Ewan McGregor, experience a rocket launch from inside the body of an astronaut, explore the amazing worlds of inner and outer space, and discover the perils that lurk in space. This family-friendly show starts at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. For more information on other shows happening at the UTA Planetarium and ticket prices, please visit their website.
