UTA's successful men's and women's wheelchair basketball programs are a point of pride for the university. On March 12, 2016 the Lady Movin' Mavs, in just their second year of competition, won the National Intercollegiate Wheelchair Basketball Tournament.

UTA's 2016 Spirit Week ended with a university-wide pep rally. Watch to see the Lady Movin' Mavs' title and trophy take center stage.

UTA has long been a trailblazer in providing sport and recreation opportunities to all students, including those with disabilities. Wheelchair basketball began at UTA in 1976. In 1988, the student body and administration at UTA elevated wheelchair basketball from recreation-based to an intercollegiate athletic program.

The men's Movin' Mavs team has won seven national titles and finished third in the 2016 tournament.

Congratulations to both our Movin' Mavs teams!
