The upcoming 2nd Annual Viridian Bioblitz is an opportunity for residents of Arlington to discover the local ecosystem and its biodiversity and to become engaged as citizen scientist.

A bioblitz is an intense period of exploration and discovery where scientists and community members work together to document and learn about the biodiversity in a specific area. This fieldwork is crucial to understanding what kinds of organisms live in a specific spot and adds to the park's official species list.

On May 20th and 21st, Viridian will host its 2nd Annual BioBlitz. The event includes nature walks focusing on bird species, reptiles and amphibians, fish and other aquatic life.

Events/Tours:
- Bird Walks
- Frog Call Count
- Moth Trapping
- Herpetology Walk
- Fish & Aquatic Macro-Invertebrate Documenting
- Falconry
- and Much More!

Location: Overlook Park II at Viridian (by the Viridian Lake Club)

Teeming with wildlife and a master plan which includes a nature reserve, Viridian which is adjacent to River Legacy Park and the Living Science Center, provides the perfect place to host this event. With 600 acres of open space and another 600 acres of lakes, rivers, streams and wetlands this event will provide educational opportunities to our residents and provide valuable scientific data for local biologists.
