23-year-old Luke Joeckel is living his American Dream as a standout left tackle for the Jacksonville Jaguars in the National Football League.
However, his incredible journey to professional football all started at Arlington High School in The American Dream City, where he was a 2010 graduate.
After graduating from Arlington High School, Joeckel went on to play football at Texas A&M. His outstanding play as an Aggie helped him become the second overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Since Luke Joeckel has joined the Jaguars, he is constantly giving back to the Arlington community.
In 2014, he donated $125,000 to his former high school, $50,000 of that money designated for scholarships to help other young students achieve their dreams after high school. The rest of the money donated is slated to help the school and the student body.
"I feel blessed to be in the NFL," said Luke Joeckel. "I got to this point thanks in large part to a lot of great people who taught me how to work hard and encouraged me to keep improving and overcoming obstacles."
His "Colts" football jersey was retired during a pep rally held November 4, 2013.
