The Arlington Fire Department christened a new boat on Friday that will help the AFD better serve The American Dream City.

The "Tillie" boat was named after Mission Arlington's Tillie Burgin, a long-time Arlington resident, teacher, missionary and advocate for the citizens of Arlington.

Fire Chief Don Crowson and other members of the Arlington Fire Department helped make Friday's ceremony at Richard Simpson Park special for all those in attendance. Ms. Burgin capped the day by using a big bottle of Dr. Pepper to christen the vessel.
