FM 157-Cooper St. Roadway Milling

Arlington drivers should be aware of multi-lane closures on FM 157-Cooper Street between Inwood Drive and Arkansas Lane starting tonight, October 7, 2015 through Friday, October 9 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

The contractor will be performing nightly roadway milling operations as part of the $5.3 million FM157-Cooper Street improvements project.

Multiple lanes will be closed and drivers should expect delays or seek alternate routes.

The project, from Interstate 20 to Mitchell Street, is a collaborative effort between the City of Arlington, Texas Department of Transportation, and the North Central Texas Council of Governments.

This 3.8-mile project will improve mobility and safety by installing raised curb medians from Arkansas Lane to Mitchell Street, upgrading traffic signals at California Lane and Mitchell Street, building and connecting sidewalks, curb ramps and driveways, and milling and repairing the existing roadway surface with an asphalt pavement overlay over the entire project length.

This construction started in the Spring of 2015 and overall completion is scheduled for Summer 2016.
