The 4th Annual Volunteer Appreciation was held on October 3, 2015 for 59 Arlington Animal Services Center volunteers.
The event is held once a year and is planned by the City's Volunteer Administrator, Cheri Colbert, to celebrate each volunteer.
Arlington is The American Dream city and the volunteers of Arlington Animal Services Center help to make dreams come true for the animals that are in the shelter's care.
The volunteer appreciation event was a time of celebration and acknowledgement for all the volunteers who have been committed to the volunteer program and the animals of Arlington Animal Services.
"Being new to the coordinator slot, I wasn't expecting anything," said Dee Woods, Volunteer Coordinator for PetSmart Cats. "The whole event was just wonderful. I'm so grateful to be associated with such a great team."
Arlington Animal Services Center volunteers work together with staff to help clean kennels, laundry, bathing and grooming adoptable animals, taking care of the cats housed at PetSmart-Highlands, assist with offsite adoption events and many other volunteer duties to help take care of the animals at Arlington Animal Services.
The department's foster program is growing, thanks in large part to the work of the Foster Coordinator, Dennis Finigan, staff and the Arlington Animal Services foster volunteers. Arlington Animal Services is grateful for the outstanding work of these volunteers.
